If your child is into Fireman Sam, then the Fireman Sam Deluxe Fire Station Playset is the one thing you have got to get this year. The set is based around the fire station in Pontypandy. This is a village in Wales and Fireman Sam and his peers are always available, usually for situations that are the cause of a little boy that lives there named Norman Price.
Unfortunately, Norman doesn't mean to be the reason for trouble. He's just one of those boys that seems to give his mother, Dilys a terrible time. The firetruck that Fireman Sam drives is Jupiter, you will find his picture on the front of the Fireman Sam Deluxe Fire Station Playset. Jupiter does not come with the set, though, you'll have to get him separately. The Born to Play Fireman Sam Jupiter engine has been a real hit with children and is worth looking at if your child doesn't already have a suitable fire engine.
This set also offers a group of Fireman Sam's friends all of which will really help make the most of your child's playset. Other characters in the story are Penny, she's a female firefighter and she drives Neptune, and then there's Tom, he flies the rescue helicopter. Tom and the Mountain Rescue Helicopter are available separately, if you're looking for additional toys this year.
Some other fun characters are Nurse Flood, she drives the ambulance, and there's Bella, who is the owner of the cafe, and also other children. Not only is there the playset, but there are also DVDs and storybooks available which are based around them. Many kids are fascinated when watching Fireman Sam and his friend, Elvis, as they hurry to help the others. Elvis adds wit to the story as he often gets very muddled about certain situations.
You even get Officer Steel, he has the overall command, but you'll find that Sam is the hero nearly every time. You'll see their imaginations grow as they play and recreate the scenes they saw either on the TV show, or on the DVD. Since there is no fighting or other types of violence involved, parents really appreciate the structure.
Each story has a moral behind it and your kids will pick it up, but won't realize that they're seeing the right and wrong ways to behave. There's really only one downside to Fireman Sam, though.
